Sources and assumptions
Figures as of 18.10.2026
Model calculation with fixed assumptions, the same for everyone. Not investment, tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation of any product or provider. Past returns are not a reliable indicator of future returns. Securities fluctuate and can lose value for years, including shortly before withdrawal. Account interest rates and costs change constantly. Inflation is an assumption, not our forecast.
Formula
Payment at the start of each year. Each year: (previous value + payment) × (1 + rate). Index rate = equity share × equity rate + bond share × bond rate − costs. Real end value = nominal end value / (1 + inflation) ^ years. The 3a account uses the same end value with the account rate and no costs. For a policy, the nominal end value is the figure you enter.
2026 maximum for employed people with a pension fund: CHF 7'258. That is the default annual payment when the field on the intro page is left empty.
Scenarios
Nominal, before costs. Costs are deducted. Equity share 25 / 50 / 75 / 100%, starting at 50%.
- Low: equities 2.0% p.a., bonds 0.0% p.a. Assumption, lower than any documented long-term value since 2001.
- Mid: equities 4.6% p.a., bonds 0.8% p.a. MSCI World net CHF since 31.01.2001: 4.61% p.a. (public factsheet, as of 30.09.2026). Bonds: rounded approximation of the yield in the April 2026 factsheet (0.86%).
- High: equities 6.4% p.a., bonds 1.6% p.a. 6.38% p.a. over 20 years to 30.09.2026: our calculation from MSCI data. Bonds about 1.62% p.a. since 29.12.2006, our calculation from the SIX level on 16.10.2026.
The scenarios are not a lower or upper bound.
Swiss bonds (SBI ESG Screened AAA-BBB, as an approximation). The 2022 mixed figures are a rounded approximation: 25% equities −13.5%, 50% −14.6%, 75% −15.8%, 100% −16.9%. Equities alone lost about 44% in 2008. The largest decline of the MSCI World in CHF was 58.8% (June 2007 to March 2009).
With a short horizon, a 3a securities account can also end in a loss.

Every calculator
Every calculator uses the same scenarios, the same costs and the same calculation. That applies to the delta calculator on /en/, to /en/rechner and to /en/rechner/konto. The policy end value is the figure you enter. The same notice sits under the result.
